The False Prophet:
The Contemporary Data

Benjamin Creme, through the messages that he has received from Maitreya, tells us that "The Christ" and the "Master Jesus" are two separate individuals. According to him, Jesus of Nazareth channeled the power of "Maitreya the Christ" to make it through his crucifixion, death and resurrection as described in the Gospels. However, Creme claims that the simple message of Jesus of Nazareth was quickly twisted into wicked "fundamentalism" and the present Christian Church is the result. Because of the "problems" within Christianity Creme claims that the Master Jesus (an "Ascended Master," along with Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna, Sai Baba, etc.) has also privately entered human society and that he has the task of reforming Christianity so that it will accept the authority and direction of Maitreya the Christ. According to Creme the Master Jesus now lives a relatively private life in Rome. Creme predicts that when the present Pope dies the Master Jesus will come out of his obscurity and take up a position of power within the Roman Catholic Church. He has also stated that right now there are two members of the Roman Curia (the members of the Pope's inner circle) who are secretly direct disciples of the "Master Jesus," although Pope John Paul II has rejected Maitreya. These predictions have been made numerous times in Creme's written works, his lectures, on radio and on the official Share International website. Here is a quote from the "Frequently Asked Questions" page of the SI site,

Q: Could you explain the relationship between the disciple Jesus and the Christ?

BC: The disciple Jesus, who is now the Master Jesus, was born in Palestine as a third degree initiate. The five major Initiations which take one to Liberation have their symbolic enactment in the life of Jesus. That is what the Gospel story is really about. It is a very ancient story and has been presented to mankind again and again, in different forms, long before the time of Jesus.

He was, and still is, a disciple of the Christ and made the great sacrifice of giving up his body for the use of the Christ. By the occult process of overshadowing, the Christ, Maitreya, took over and worked through the body of Jesus from the Baptism onwards.

In his next incarnation, as Apollonius of Tyana, Jesus became a Master. He lives now in a Syrian body which is some 600 years old, and has his base in Rome. He has, in the last 2,000 years, worked in the closest relation to the Christ, saving his time and energy where possible, and has special work to do with the Christian Churches. He is one of the Masters who will very shortly return to outer work in the world, taking over the throne of St Peter, in Rome. He will seek to transform the Christian Churches, in so far as they are flexible enough to respond correctly to the new reality which the return of the Christ and the Masters will create.

I am afraid that the Churches have gone very far away from the religion which the Christ inaugurated; which is to do with sharing, with love, with brotherhood and right relationship. But this monolithic institution has grown up in the name of that simple man and transformed his simple teaching into ... well, you know what it has taught.

In summary, it is clear that Benjamin Creme claims that "Jesus" now lives in Rome and that he will take over the Roman Catholic Church and then lead humanity to accept Maitreya the "Christ."

Q. How is the externalisation of the Spiritual Hierarchy led by the Christ going to affect education?
A.
The fundamental purpose of education, as I see it, is to equip people to demonstrate their divine potential as souls in incarnation. The externalization of the work of the Masters will have an enormous physical, emotional, mental, and psychological impact on humanity. We will come to realize that the soul really does exist. They, the Masters, are the Kingdom of Souls. People like Jesus will be talking to the people daily. He is alive and well and, if you can believe me, has been living in Rome for the last seven years. The Master of all the Masters, the Lord Maitreya, has been living in London (although moving around the world at will) since 1977. If these are facts, then the fact of the Hierarchy will also demonstrate the fact of the soul...

From "The Master Jesus" by Aart Jurriaanse - Discussion of the current status and present responsibility of the Master Jesus.

"Although the Master Jesus (J) is an adept on the Sixth Ray of Devotion and Idealism, and thus resides in the department of the Lord of Civilization, he has been seconded to serve under the Christ, the World Teacher, to promote the welfare of Christianity. He is at present the inspirer and director of the Christian religion throughout the world.
In collaboration with the Masters KH and M, the Master Jesus is deeply interested in unifying the religious thought of East and West. According to the Plan, this will lead to the One Universal Church, uniting all peoples into the One Humanity....
"It is forecast that the Master Jesus will yet occupy the chair of the Pope of Rome, and that from that seat he will then be able to re-inspire and re-orient the whole field of Christian religion, diverting it from its present political and temporal trends, towards a more spiritual approach." (Read the full article online at: http://www.shareintl.org/archives/AgelessWisdom/aw_ajJesus.htm ).

From "Jesus of Nazareth and Maitreya the Christ" by Peter Liefhebber - A discussion of the close relationship between Maitreya and Jesus, 2000 years ago at the beginning of the Age of Pisces and today at the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.

"The Master Jesus has been incarnate in a Syrian body for about 640 years. He is described in Initiation, Human and Solar by Alice A. Bailey (published by Lucis Publishing Co.) as follows: He is rather a martial figure, a disciplinarian and a man of iron rule and will. He is tall and spare with rather a long thin face, black hair, pale complexion, and piercing blue eyes. In the Hierarchy he is described as the Great Leader, the General and the Wise Executive. No one is so closely in touch with the people who stand for all that is best in the Christian teachings and no-one is so well aware of the needs of the present moment.
During most of this time he has lived mainly in Palestine. Since 1984, however, he has lived in Rome. The intention is that he will try to raise the Christian churches out of their state of crystallization and rivalry and, if invited to do so, to lead a newly united church. By doing so he hopes to resolve the many contradictions and misunderstandings which have arisen during the course of the centuries about his historic role and the teachings which he then disseminated as a vehicle for Maitreya."

According to Creme and others associated with SI, Jesus will soon publicly appear and take over the throne of St. Peter. Jurriaanse writes, "It is forecast that the Master Jesus will yet occupy the chair of the Pope of Rome..." Yet on another page (http://www.shareintl.org/archives/religion/faq_religion.htm) Creme states that Jesus will take over the throne of St. Peter, but that he will not become Pope. Creme goes on to say that the true apostolic succession of Popes will begin when Jesus take over. Will Jesus be Pope or not? SI contradicts itself on this answer. The only way to make sense of it is that perhaps Creme is predicting that when "Jesus the Ascended Master" appears he will assert authority over the RCC and then appoint his own pope. In this way he will have power over the throne of St. Peter, yet he will not occupy it himself. On the above page Creme says that Pope John Paul II rejects Creme's message of the coming of Maitreya and does not believe a word of it. However Creme does make the claim that "there are two members of the Curia (the group around the Pope) who are direct disciples of the Master Jesus. For years they have been trying subtly to reorient the Pope to the idea of the presence of the Master Jesus in Rome and of Maitreya in London, without, I think, any success."
